What is Soju?
Soju is Korea's best-known spirit and has been part of Korean food and drinking culture for centuries. Its history goes back to the 13th century. Traditional Soju was distilled from fermented grains, particularly rice.
Today, modern Soju is the most widespread style. High-strength alcohol is diluted with water to drinking strength and adjusted according to the variety. This creates the clear and comparatively mild character typical of many modern Sojus.
Alongside classic varieties, many fruit-flavoured options are available today, including Strawberry, Grapefruit, Plum, Peach, Green Grape and Lemon. Soju is typically served chilled in small glasses and is closely associated with shared meals.

CHAMISUL
One of Korea's best-known Soju brands
Chamisul is one of Korea's best-known Soju brands and belongs to JINRO. JINRO's history dates back to 1924, giving the brand more than 100 years of Soju tradition.
Chamisul was introduced in 1998. One of its characteristic features is filtration through bamboo charcoal, which JINRO used to establish a particularly clear and smooth style of Soju.
Today, the Chamisul range extends from classic varieties such as Fresh and Original to fruity options such as Strawberry, Grapefruit, Plum, Green Grape, Peach and Lemon.
